UEFA Champions League Trophy

The 2020/21 UEFA Champions League group stage draw has been completed with mouth-watering fixtures to look up to even in the group stages.

Last season’s winners Chelsea will have to navigate through Group H to defend the title they beat Manchester City to lift at Porto. And in that group, Chelsea will have to overcome Juventus, Zenit St Petersburg and Swedish side Malmo to progress to the next stage. Chelsea is not new to both Juventus and Malmo whom they have faced before in Europe but would be taking their first test against Russian opponent, Zenit St Petersburg.

Another of the most familiar fixtures that fans would witness is the Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain clash in group A which will be a repeat of the semi-final clash between the sides last season. The Blues triumphed but it could now be a different story with the Parisien having added former Barcelona man Lionel Messi to their ranks including Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum, Donnaruma and Achraf Hakimi.

That is not all, there is also a repeat of last season’s European Europa League final as Manchester United have been drawn against Villarreal who beat the Red Devils on penalties to win the competition. They will face off in Group F which also houses Italian side Atalanta and Young Boys.

Real Madrid will have Borussia Dortmund, Ajax who was their nightmare a couple of seasons ago and Champions League group stage newbies, Sheriff Tiraspol from Moldova.

Below is the full draw for the 2021/22 Champions League group stage.
