Some Revelers Arrested For Disobeying Akufo-Addo’s Directive
While some Christians were in church reflecting on Jesus’ death to commemorate the Easter festivities, some revelers were busily disobeying the president’s Covid-19 directives and go to have fun at the beach .
This led to the arrest of 5 revelers at the Titanic and Laboma beaches by ASP Cosmos who is in charge of the Sakumono stretch and his team.
The issue was no different at Chorkor in the Ablekuma South constituency as 6 revelers were also arrested and sent to the Dansoman Police station for also disobeying the president’s directive. It was revealed that by Tuesday the culprits will be arraigned before court to serve as a deterrent to others.
Meanwhile Dr Micheal Owusu, a virologist with Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR) in an interview on TV3 and monitored by myactiveonline.com advised that Ghanaians should take a cue from what happened during the Christmas festivities. He urged the police to enforce the law to the latter. He further indicated though most people have taken the first jab of the vaccine we are not out of the woods yet. According to him, the virus is still mutating and we must still obey the protocols to avoid a third wave.
