Asante Kotoko were made to work for a hard-fought 1-0 win over Dreams FC in Dawu in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Talented left-back Ibrahim Imoro grabbed the game’s solitary goal on the 10th minute mark as Dreams wasted glorious opportunities to at least steal a point from the game.

Dreams coach Wilfred Dormon surprisingly left out striking talisman Joseph Esso from the team sheet while handing playing time to Ghana U20 striker Precious Boah who only arrived in the country on Saturday.

Kotoko’s interim head coach Johnson Smith started Razak Abalora in post for his first game on the Ghanaian top-flight since 2017.

The Porcupine Warriors created chances early in the game and duly took the lead when Imoro finished off a move with a clinical strike.

After the goal Dreams had moments of their own creating avalanche of chances but they failed to convert any of them.

At some point in the second half Kotoko had to rely on the agility of goalkeeper Razak Abalora who saved them from conceding the equaliser at many different times during the course of the game.

After trying to hard to equalise the goal without success Dormon introduced Precious Boah for Agyenim Boateng in a bid to pile more pressure on the Kotoko defence – though that work to some extent, Kotoko stood firm to deny the host any chance of an equaliser.
