Awudu Ishaq, National Communications Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has revealed that the suspension of its General Secretary, Janet Nabila, was necessary.

Mr Ishaq has blamed Madam Janet Nabila for always putting the party in a bad light by bringing out false allegations which do not augur well for the party.

He slammed her for not giving reverence to the party but rather sewing seeds of discord to destabilize the party.

On August 28, 2021, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PNC took a decision to indefinitely suspend Nabila over gross misconduct, insubordination, and incompetence.

Madam Nabilla has however denied all allegations levelled against her, rejecting her suspension in the process.

Nabila rather accused the party’s Chairman, Moses Dani Baah, and their 2020 flagbearer, David Apasera of embezzling funds to the tune of GHS70,000 from the party’s coffers without accountability or any justifiable reason.

However, Mr Ishaq has denied the allegations of embezzlement by Madam Nabila stating that that “qualify for her to face disciplinary action.”

These issues come a day after the headquarters of the PNC party was thrown into a chaotic state following heated exchanges during a press conference to explain to Ghanaians what led to Janet Nabila’s suspension.

The press briefing turned chaotic, as the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the party, Bala Mei Kankan, kept on interrupting the event with his interjections while Mr Ishaq was addressing the press.

Mei Kankan tried to defend the PNC’s suspended General Secretary Madam Nabila. Mr Mei Kankan was forcibly dragged out of the hall by Police and some PNC members for the briefing to continue.
