Security services to recruit only NPP members

Nurudeen Fuseini - North East Regional NPP Chairman

Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in the North East Region, Nurudeen Fuseini has warned supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress to stay away from the ongoing recruitment exercise into the various security services.

Nurudeen made this statement on a local radio station in the region on Wednesday.

According to the regional chairman, the New Patriotic Party’s leadership in the North East Region has intentions to ensure that names of NDC supporters among the application are struck out to make way for members of the NPP, who he said voted the party into power. Therefore, he is encouraging only NPP members to apply even if they were not qualified.

Mr Nurudeen Fuseini said, “As you’re aware, recruitments into the security services are underway. I encourage all party members to send in their applications. If you had ever come out as an NDC supporter to criticize NPP, we will fish you out and remove your application.”

He added that the leadership of the party in the region will disregard the “so-called due process” and are going to apply their own set of party rules because they are in power.

On the issue of allegations of him working against the political ambition of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia by party supporters in the region, the chairman denied claiming this amongst many other allegations are false.
