Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has certainly not given up on his presidential ambition yet as he has expressed his intentions to contest for the 2024 New Patriotic Party flagbearer position.

Stating his intention during an interview on Citi TV, the experienced politician said “Today, I want to make it clear. As soon as the party allows for nominations to be filed for the flagbearer of the party, I will file”

According to the Former General Secretary of the Party, his commitment to serve humanity has instilled that desire to lead the NPP as he believes his party has the same ideals to exhibit such tenets when given the opportunity.

Mr Agyapong having previously contested before has a strong conviction that his selfless and dedicated hard work for the party all these years makes him the ideal candidate for the task ahead.

Kwabena Agyapong was suspended from the party in 2015, along with the then National Chairman Paul Afoko and National Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe while for misconduct. The suspension cost him his position as General Secretary of the party at the time.

The suspension was lifted by the National Executive Council six years later and automatically restored him as a member of the party’s NEC, Steering Committee, and the National Council according to the party’s constitution.

“The party has rules and regulations, and we don’t need to jump the gun and when the time comes, you will know the warmth of the youth because my message resonates with them. They see, in me, the hope of our political tradition because I have worked under all the leadership of this party,” he gisted about his popularity and chances at the primaries.
