Why are the textbooks for new curricula not ready 2 years after introduction – Apaak
Education is one of the major bedrocks upon which a nation is built and in this competitive era every country needs an educated youth.
With Ghana’s education in focus, the Minority in Parliament has expressed concern again over the lack of textbooks since the introduction of the new basic education curricula two years ago.
Despite the assurance from the Ghana Education Service that the textbooks for the new curricula will soon be out Dr Clement Apaak, Member of Parliament for Builsa South constituency does not seem convinced, lamenting that it is hampering the learning abilities of the students.
He fears that it is going to impact negatively on the students, and parents who are also concerned about the issue are distraught. With how the new curriculum was introduced he expected it to work that same way for the students to benefit.
“But here lies the case both curricula to guide teachers and students for a smooth academic work is currently not available,” he said.
