Most Ghanaians seem to have forgotten what the world is going through from the impact of the Covid-19 with the Ghana Health Service expressing worry about the few numbers that turn up to be inoculated.

Interestingly, the Programs Manager for the expanded program on immunization at the Ghana Health Service says Ghana has acquired more vaccines but now people are not turning out to be vaccinated.

He bemoaned how the ever-ready health workers will sit all day only to have a few people come and be vaccinated.

Ghana had received 8 million doses of vaccines but the Ghana Health Service had only used 3 million doses.

Dr Achiano said “Sometimes our health workers can sit in the health facilities for quite some number of hours and get just one or two people coming.

“We have done just about 4.3 per cent of our initial target, not even the total target population.

“Initially the problem was the vaccines, people were asking where the vaccines are, now we are asking where the people are.”

The target of president Akufo-Addo was to get about 20 million of Ghana’s population vaccinated against Covid-19 by the end of the year.
