There are no food shortages in SHSs – Deputy Minister confirms
Deputy Education Minister, Rev Ntim Fordjour in a bid to verify reports making rounds about food shortages has visited some Senior High Schools.
For the Deputy Minister, what he observed so far was that the schools he has been to so far have enough food in stock.
Oreily Senior High and Achimota Senior High are some of the schools he visited and checked their storerooms to confirm that there was enough food in stock.
He also moved to Tema Senior High School to confirm and they also had enough food in stock he even had an interaction with students to ascertain the quality of food they were served and they brought out positive reports so far.
Most of the school heads debunked the rumour of food shortage. Achimota SHS headmistress, for instance, said she was even surprised to hear the school’s name is mentioned as one of the schools that has a food shortage.

He further confirmed that the report he is bringing out is nothing but the truth. He then indicated that they would still keep their eyes on the schools to make sure they create the right environment for teaching and learning.
The Deputy Minister’s move was necessitated after reports went round purported to be from some teacher unions and parents about food shortages in some various Senior High Schools.
