All members of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association (CETAG) decision to go on leave at once has not gone well with their superiors, the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education.

Already CETAG has issued a request that by August 31st 2022 government should have addressed issues regarding its members’ conditions of service.

It also said that the government has not appreciated its members’ efforts of working all year round without taking a break which is against the conditions of service of the Colleges of Education.

The principals in charge of the colleges of education are infuriated by the ordeal insisting that such acts by the teachers will not be countenanced.

Chairman of the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education, Dr Emmanuel Nyamekye, said, “we are asking them [not to take such action]. Let’s see those who have been working through the year and those who have had opportunities to rest”.

He further called on the teachers to exercise patience and embrace dialogue while adding that even if there is a situation where a teacher is teaching only year three it means when they are out of campus that teacher can rest.

The principals of the Colleges of Education have also threatened to deal with the teachers should they carry out their intended actions.
