President Akufo-Addo visited Dag Heward-Mills to sympathize with him on his son’s death

Following the death of the first son of Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, the Founder and General Overseer of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC), President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his condolences to the family while wishing them comfort and love.

The President who announced his visit to the Bishop in a tweet on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, said “I visited Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, Founder and General Overseer of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC), to express the sympathies and condolences of my family and I, on the tragic loss of his son.”

He further tweeted that “I wish the Bishop and his family the strength, comfort, and love of the Almighty in these difficult times”.

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills lost his first son, who was living in the United States.

A circular from the church on social media announcing the death stated that “It is with deep regret and great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing away of David Heward-Mills, after a short illness”.

“David was the first son of our Founder and Presiding Bishop.

“We, also as a church, are heartbroken, however, we stand with our leader and his family and believe that God will comfort and see us through this very difficult season.

“Please respect their privacy during this difficult time,” the circular stated.

David was a psychiatrist in Columbia, South Carolina and received his medical degree from Vinnica State Medical University and had practised for over six years.
