Nation Builders Corps personnel whose services officially ended today at the North Tongu Constituency have been employed by Sinostone Bioethanol Manufacturing Ltd (SBML) company operating in the area.

This commendable feat was achieved by their legislator Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who liaised with the Chinese company to engage the personnel.

He said “As Government ends NaBCo today September 1, 2022; I am delighted to announce that I have successfully negotiated with the Chinese management of Sinostone Bioethanol Manufacturing Ltd (SBML) located in my beloved North Tongu, to immediately employ all our 97 NaBCo beneficiaries.

We shall continue to look out for each other with our best efforts.

This is to the delight of the person who after today would have gone back to job hunting again but courtesy of their legislator there is something they can hang on to in the meantime.

The issues of unemployment among the youth drove the government to introduce such a programme in 2017 but for some time now has had issues with allowance payment to beneficiaries whose service ends today.

As a contingency plan, Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta during the presentation of the mid-year budget review on 25th July 2022 advised beneficiaries to take advantage of the YouStart program to push them into entrepreneurship.
