A detail account of how an Okada rider murdered a 13-year-old boy for rituals on the instructions of a priestess

According to an account by the sitrep of Aveyime, Battor, Mepe and Sogakope environs, the sad incident of the murder of 13-year-old Kofi occurred on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region.

On the said date at around 1200 hours, a Community Policing Assistant, CPA, Tornyi Oppong Martin sent a distress call to the effect that a teenager was murdered at Aflorkope-Dove.

Operation Motherland personnel proceeded to the scene of the crime and arrested suspect Emmanuel Tsido Doe, aged 22 years, an Okada rider. The suspect was immediately interrogated in the presence of several witnesses and he stated that another suspect, Madam Floda Ekpe, a 52-year-old Priestess of the Shelter Pentecostal Church Prayer Centre at Aflorkope allegedly instructed him to provide her with a human head for rituals.

The victim’s head was found behind the house of the priestess and the headless body found in the Blakoe stream at Aflorkope-Dove village.

A third suspect, Madam Adiku Okudzeto, aged 60 years who went to the Shelter Pentecostal Church Prayer Centre for healing prayers allegedly played a significant role in the murder of the innocent boy and was also apprehended.

The deceased’s body has been deposited at the Roman Catholic Hospital, Battor for preservation and autopsy. The three suspects are in the Aveyime Police custody assisting in investigations.
