A decision on the current border restrictions will soon be communicated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo according to the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin.
Mr Arhin noted that a consultation will be held with the National Covid-19 Response Team before a decision is arrived on what to do with the current border restrictions in the country.
This was made known at the Jubilee House during a press briefing on Monday 30th August 2021 with the Presidential Press Corps.
His assurance is in response to a recent demonstration by people of the Ketu South municipality where the continued closure of the border is having a serious economic impact on their lives hence their demonstrations to have the borders opened.
According to Mr Arhin, the president knows the plight of the citizens in those areas since the closure took place and assures that the president will review any aspect that needs one as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress is gearing up for a demonstration in the Volta Region in relation to the border closure. The party is demanding that the borders be opened to ease the economic hardships on the people in those areas.
