The much-anticipated State of the Nation Address is expected to be delivered by President Akufo-Addo today March 30, 2022, in Ghana’s Parliament.

His presentation comes on the back of his administration’s presentation of the most controversial tax measure, the Electronic Transaction Levy which was passed yesterday despite the Minority caucus staging a walkout.

The presentation had initially been postponed after it was scheduled earlier this month. It was previously communicated that the President’s sessional address would be delivered on March 3.

The  Akufo-Addo administration faced some criticism over the delay as it wrestled with a general economic downturn.

Such a sessional address is constitutionally sanctioned and is supposed to be delivered in the first meeting of every session of the house.

The address is set to spell out the government’s key policy objectives and deliverables for the year ahead.

This will afford the government the opportunity to highlight the achievements of his government, challenges faced and also outline developmental measures for the coming financial year.
