Dean of students at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Dr Vladimir Danso does not agree with some of the measures put in place by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to get Guinea back on the path of democracy.

His argument is especially with the six months timeline to organize elections and get Guinea on a democratic path which he thinks is ridiculous and will not be viable.

According to Dr Antwi- Danso, with the travelling and other property sanctions imposed on the military junta, he doubts if it will work or go a long way to help Guinea in any way, citing what is currently happening in Mali as an example.

He recommends that it is time ECOWAS as a regional body have introspection and also impose such sanctions on leaders who massage constitutions in their favour to extend their term of office.

As it stands, ECOWAS Chairman, President Akufo-Addo is said to set to travel to Guinea to personally communicate the outcome of the summit held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, in the hope of ushering democracy back into Guinea.

Information also coming from Guinea indicates that the Military leader, Mamady Doumbouya has confiscated items of some of President Alpha Conde’s officials allegedly accused of being corrupt.
