Police invite Shatta Wale as beef with Bullgod opens fresh leads in Fennec Okyere’s murder case
Following the social media spat between music executive Bullgod and Charles Nii Mensah Jr known by his stage name Shatta Wale this morning which resulted in the latter threatening to expose his former associate on this he said to him [Shatta Wale] about the late artist manager’s murder, Police has contacted the musician to assist in investigation.
According to a statement by the police, they “have made contact with Shatta Wale who is cooperating” with them “on the matter”.
The law enforcement authority said, “the recently established Cold Case Unit has been working for months on all unresolved murder cases, including that of Fennec Okyere with support from the affected families”.
Meanwhile, hiplife musician Kwaw Kese who was managed by Fennec at the time of his death has called for the police to act on the case. Kwaw Kese has for some time now asking for the case to be reopened as he insists his former boss must find justice.
Shatta Wale threatened to testify in court against Bullgod after the latter leaked a list of songs which he said are the songs on the yet to be released Gift of God album by Shatta. The dance hall artiste posted on his Facebook wall that he will expose his former associate since Bullgod has decided to go on that tangent of leaking secrets.
Fennec Okyere was murdered on March 13, 2014 by unknown assailants at his Manner Gardens residents on the Spintex Road. Bullgod, formerly known as Bulldog was arrested as a suspect because he was alleged to have threatened the 31-year-old artiste manager who he had beefs with and was alleged to have threatened his life on radio.
Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson as Bullgod is known in private life was discharged of all the charges in 2017 when the Attorney General said the state had no interest in continuing the case, a decision Kwaw Kese was not happy with.
Bullgod has maintained his innocence in the murder and claimed the beefs with Fennec was just for the hype and the promotion of their artists and nothing beyond that. He also said he never threatened Fennec despite their differences or bad words against each other.
