Sleep is a natural cycle that everyone goes through daily but as a form of motivation, people see it as cancer to poverty and more often than not tag others who wish to sleep regularly as lazy. Owing to that laziness tag, many individuals are always keen to trade their sleep for other things that could fetch them money.

However, health experts will advise people to have enough sleep as it helps their bodies in so many different ways including relaxing your body, regenerating lost energy, and a simple form of rest for the human person. Kennedy Osei, son of business mogul Kwame Despite is supporting the experts’ advice and encouraging good sleep.

According to Kennedy Osei who is currently the General manager of the Despite Group of Companies, the mentality that has been ingrained into Africans and Ghanaians that sleeping is a waste of time and hence one’s hands should be busy always to make a living for oneself is not true.

Revealing this on his Instagram handle, the father of two explained that sleeping at least eight (8) hours a day has the potency of prolonging the lifespan of an individual. He is thus asking individuals to cultivate the habit of sleeping enough irrespective of the pressures in their lives or the fight they have to make to succeed in life.

He said, “Team No Sleep!

Sleep 8hour a day and that’s 1/3 of your life.

Lazy people sleep at night.

Sleep is for the weak! Etc”

“Most people including myself have been victims of sharing the above statements as some sort of motivation. However, having a deep and sound sleep is a non-negotiable biological necessity and not an optional lifestyle luxury,” he added.

“The shorter your SLEEP, The Shorter your LIFE! Lack of Sleep is a source of aging and decline in the proper functioning of the brain. Sleep is a source of the immune booster and a natural developing factor for every living organism,” he continued.

“Make the most out of your working hours and acquire a GOOD & SOUND SLEEP,” he concluded.
