Super Eagles co-coach Emmanuel Amuneke has insisted that the Super Eagles will be ready for the Black Stars of Ghana next month when the two West African powerhouses renew their footballing rivalry in a bid to seal qualification to Qatar 2022.
Amuneke was recently appointed to form part of the technical team for the Super Eagles ahead of the doubleheader next month against the Black Stars and he has assured of the side’s preparedness for the task ahead.
He argued that despite their sudden deflated performance at the AFCON which saw them exit at the round of 16 following a stellar performance in the group stages that they have put that behind them and are now fully focused on the Ghana match.

He admitted that the team needs to do its homework well ahead of the clash in order to stand a chance to qualify ahead of the Black Stars, while admitted that regardless of the rivalry, Ghana and Nigeria are like brothers.
“We can qualify surely, but we will need to do all the things needful. In football, there are so many things and those at times determine the success of a team.
“Hopefully, when the time comes, Nigeria will be in a good position to compete with Ghana. It’s a known fact about the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana and whether we like it or not, we are brothers.”
