Nigerien forward, Victorien Adje Adebayor, has joined Legon Cities on loan from Danish second-tier side, HB Koge, until the end of the current season.
The 24-year-old signed for Koge back in October 2020 from Ghana Premier League (GPL) club, Inter Allies.
Speaking on the decision to loan Adebayor to Legon Cities, HB Køge director, Per Rud, said the winger needed to be close to his family and girlfriend to perform.
“…For personal reasons, he has a strong need to be close to his family for the time to come. We have listened to that.
“We have come to the conclusion that if he does not thrive here because he does not have “himself with”, it is the right solution.
“Adebayor’s first time in Denmark has not been easy. There has been corona. The paperwork with visas and work permits has been a long time coming.
“We have not yet succeeded in bringing his girlfriend to Denmark.”
Victorien Adebayor scored 19 goals in 25 appearances for Inter Allies in the two truncated GPL seasons.
He joins Richmond Antwi, Hans Kwofie and Justice Anane as the latest additions to the Royals squad in the second transfer window.
