Why did Messi have to leave? –Koeman suspects Barca
Former Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has questioned the club’s decision to let Messi go because of a bad financial position only to pay €55million six months later to sign a player.
Koeman had to sanction the departure of some first-team stars including Messi and Griezmann due to the club exceeding its wage limits. However, after he was axed for poor results, his replacement and fellow club legend, Xavi has been given the chance to add several new faces to his squad including Ferran Torres from City, Adama Traore on loan, and Aubameyang and Dani Alves on a free transfer.
Premier League clubs queue for Wijnaldum
Premier League clubs including West Ham, Newcastle United and Aston Villa have all reportedly expressed interest in taking Wijnaldum back to the premier league, a year after he departed Liverpool for PSG.
The Dutchman has not lightened up the French capital as anticipated with limited opportunities afforded him in a star-studded PSG side and he previously admitted to not being happy in Paris.
Timo Werner may consider Dortmund move
Chelsea forward Timo Werner may consider moving back to the Bundesliga with Dortmund after getting frustrated with his limited opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
The German has seen his involvement limited since the arrival of Lukaku who has failed to light up since switching Milan for London in the summer.
Werner was influential as Chelsea advanced to the FA Cup last 8, with a goal and two assists but he may now have to end his stay with the London-based club in order to seek more playing time elsewhere.
Barcelona ink closer to Christensen and Kessie deals
Barcelona are moving very closer to securing the signatures of two of their top targets, Andrea Christensen and Franck Kessie.
Both players will join as free agents with their contracts ending at the end of the season. Christensen may well renew at Chelsea if the club meets his demands but Kessie seems to have his mindset for a switch after rejecting renewal offers from Milan.
Meanwhile, Chelsea has launched a final bid to keep the Dane at Stamford Bridge despite the academy graduate on the verge of signing a pre-contract with Barcelona, according to 90min.
Newcastle join Man United in the race for Victor Osimhen

He said as quoted by the French newspaper, “We’ve never thought about changing our manager. We’ve never contacted Zidane or anyone. I can say that Mauricio Pochettino has never asked to leave. I have no problem with him. We talk about everything”.
Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool are all considering submitting a bid for Torino right-back Wilfried Singo, who would be available for £25m.
The Ivorian’s contract at Torino is not up until June 2023 but the Granata may seek to cash in while there is time.
We will do everything to keep Mbappe
PSG Sporting Director Leonardo Araujo has denied that the club has offered Kylian Mbappe a €200m renewal proposal, claiming salary would be the last thing they will put on the forward’s table.
Meanwhile, he has confirmed that the club will do everything possible to tie down the Frenchman to a deal at the French capital and as far as he has not signed with any club, a deal is possible.
Manchester City still has a serious interest in Erling Haaland
Manchester United are still seriously interested in a move for Borrusia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland. The Premier League champions are looking to add another striker fold and have identified the Norwegian as the best fit.
They will however have to fend off competitions from Real Madrid who have been tracking the forward and are mooted to make a big-money move for the prolific forward in the summer.
Watkins’ boost for Arsenal
Arsenal have been given a boost in their pursuit of Ollie Watkins with Aston Villa ready to listen to offers for the forward.
Gunners’ manager Mikel Arteta want another forward at the Emirates after they parted ways with Aubameyang in midseason.
