Tamale Utrecht has reported Steadfast FC to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on a transfer agreement between the academy and the club over Black Stars forward Fatawu Issahaku, agreed four years ago.

The report indicates that Steadfast FC reached an agreement with Tamale Utrecht to pay a 20% onward transfer fees whenever the forward secures a deal locally or abroad, but Steadfast failed to honour the agreement signed between both parties.

Following the transfer of the 18-year-old forward to Sporting Lisbon, for a transfer fee of  €1.2 million, Steadfast FC has only paid €110,000 to Tamale Utrecht instead of €204,000 representing the initial 20% agreement.

Tamale Utrecht maintains that efforts to have Steadfast pay the outstanding €94,000 has not yielded any results, hence the decision to report the matter to GFA. The academy added that they will go the extra mile to report to FIFA if the non-compliance continue and eventually seek legal redress at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), since the Portuguese club paid the money in full.

Unconfirmed claims from the camp of Steadfast has it that the forward was a minor and could not have signed a professional contract with Tamale Utrecht Academy making an onward transfer fee agreement an illegality.
