Ghana has missed out on all honours at the 2021 Afcon after no player of the Black Stars was named in the team of the tournament. Ghana failed to win a single match at the continental event and exited at the group stage.

The Afcon team of the tournament has six players from Senegal and five players each from Egypt and Cameroon with Burkina Faso providing three and Comoros star man Youssouf M’Changama getting the node as well.

The starting XI is made of Mendy in goal, Achraf Hakimi and Saliou Ciss at the right and left fullback and Abdelmonem and Edmond Tapsoba at centre back. A midfield trio of Mohamed Elneny, Nampalys Mendy and Ibrahim Blati Toure sit in front of the defenders with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane flanking Vincent Aboubakar in the attack.

Andre Onana, Karl Toko Ekambi and Kalidou Koulibaly all make the bench. Meanwhile, the only countries represented in the team of the tournament aside from the top four teams are Morocco and Comoros.
