Lukaku scores twice for Chelsea against Aston Villa
Romelu Lukaku’s start to life at Chelsea continues to excite many fans as the big Belgian continues to do what he knows to do best and was brought to do; score goals.
With a goal on his second debut for the club against Arsenal in week two, he could not get on the score sheet in a tightly contested game against Liverpool where the Blues played the entire second half with 10-men. But that was not enough to end his prolific start to life in West London as he has returned from the international break with loads of goals in his bag.
He has started to distribute them and let two out against the Claret and Blue at Stamford Bridge as he scores his first goals for Chelsea at home.
The Belgian received a thorough ball Kovacic, took a teasing shot that left Tuanzebe on the ground before slotting past Steer in front of a pack Stamford Bridge crowd. It was his first for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, an important goal that would then lead to the victory on the afternoon.
Kovacic added one before the hour mark to give the Pensioners a two-goal cushion but that was not to be the end of it as Lukaku sought his second of the day. That moment came in the 3rd minute of added time when substitute Azplicueta picked out the striker at the edge of the box to pick out a shot into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.
His next assignment will be on Tuesday when he will be expected to lead the Blues attack to begin the defence of their European crown with a game at the Bridge against Zenit Saint Petersburg before returning to Premier League action against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
