Luis Suarez has been presented with another chance to punish Ghanaians with memories of his last act which made him a villain in the West African country still fresh in the minds of many 12 years since he broke their hearts in South Africa.

Suarez infamously stopped a late Dominic Adiyiah effort from scoring after Fernando Muselera was beaten by the header. The striker was sent off and was seen jubilating while walking down the tunnel when Asamoah Gyan missed the decisive spot kick that could have secured Ghana and Africa its first ever semi-final appearance at the World Cup.

The veteran striker has been included in the squad alongside another 2010 veteran Edinson Cavani. The veteran forwards is joined in the attack by Maximiliano Gomez and Darwin Nunez.

Xavi Alonso has also included Diego Godin of Velez Sarsfield and Ronald Araujo of Barcelona as well as Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez among his defenders.

Ghana is yet to name its final squad for the tournament with the announcement expected on Monday but only Andre Ayew is a member of the 2010 squad if he makes it to the final 26-man squad.
