Kotoko who were hosting Phobians at their adopted home at the Accra Sports Stadium had the opportunity to take an early lead thanks to a 2nd minute penalty. Richard Attah saved Kotoko’s spot kick in the 3rd minute of first half to maintain the hope of his team in claiming a positive result from the encounter.
After a goalless 45 minutes, then came the chance for the Phobians to punish their rivals also from the spot but Isaac Mensah had his kick saved by Razak Abalora to keep the tie even. Neither side could master a goal as the game wore on to claim victory and the epic encounter ended in a stalemate.
