Hasaacas and Army Ladies advance to FA Cup semis as Police Ladies bow out

Army Ladies on Monday afternoon thrashed Anlo Ladies 0-7 to advance to the semi-finals of the Women FA Cup. Anlo Ladies was powerless against the women from the Ghana Armed Forces who run riot at the WAFA park to secure the resounding victory.

Fosu Royal Ladies also lost at home to Ashtown Ladies in a five-goal thriller that ended 1-4 for the visitors to ensure their passage into the next stage of the competition.

Over the weekend, Police Ladies succumbed to the might of Ampem Darkoa Ladies to bow out of the competition after suffering a 0-2 home defeat.

Meanwhile, defending champions Hasaacas Ladies started the trend of away wins in the quarter-finals when they marched past Kumasi Sports Academy to reach the last four as they aim to defend the trophy they won last season as part of their all-conquering campaign. The Doo Ladies could not secure an outright winner despite Doris Boaduwaa shooting them to the lead but did so via penalty kicks to advance on 2-3 after the match ended 1-1 in regulation time at the Bantama AstroTurf.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will host Army Ladies in the semi-finals while Hasaacas Ladies will square up against Ashtown Ladies in the other semi-final match.
