Global footballers welfare body FIFPro has allegedly dragged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to the Court of Arbitration for sports over the latter’s banning of players involved in the 17th July 2021 fixed match between Inter Allies and Ashanti Gold.

Unassailable information reaching us indicates FIFPro conducted background investigations into the scandal, hence the decision to embark on knitting the judgment by the Ghanaian football governing body in mud.

GFA through its disciplinary committee took a decision this year, 2022 to ban about 25 players who were allegedly involved in fixing the match for a number of months and years depending on each player’s level of involvement.

The global footballers’ welfare body, FIFPro through the Professionals Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) contacted some of the players from both Inter Allies and Ashanti Gold.

It is unknown to us if FIFPro has omitted Asante Kotoko Richmond Lamptey from the suit since the club directed its legal team to appeal the two years and beyond ban imposed on its midfielder.
