Cameroon’s coach Rigobert Song named his final 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and did not include veteran defender Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui. The KAA Gent centre-back has been an ever-present member of the Lions squad and has been present at the club side but was surprisingly left out of the squad with no explanation.

Despite the omission of the experienced defender, Cameroon still has in their ranks a number of world cup veterans including the captain of the side Vincent Aboubakar, Nicolas Nkoulou and Eric-Maxime Choup Moting who plays for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The Indomitable Lions are making an African-record eighth appearance in the tournament and are housed in Group G with Switzerland, Brazil and Serbia.
