Andreas Christensen seals Barcelona transfer as Franck Kessie signs for 4 years
Barcelona has signed defender Andreas Christensen on a free transfer following his departure from Chelsea.
Andreas Christensen, 26, was released from Chelsea upon the expiry of his contract after 10 years in West London.
The Denmark international was widely tipped to join the Blaugrana, but the Catalan giants have now confirmed his arrival according to multiple sources from Spain.
He is the first to follow Antonio Rudiger in heading to Spain on a free transfer after the German joined Barca’s rivals Real Madrid.
The defender has registered 161 appearances for the Blues after breaking into the senior team in 2013 and won the Champions League, Europa League, Club World Cup and Super Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Kessie, 25, has also signed a four-year deal at the Camp Nou after helping Milan lift the Serie A trophy for the first time in a decade last season.
The midfielder’s arrival at Barca could spell good news for Manchester United in their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong.
