Afena Gyan completes Cremonese switch, AS Roma secures replacement
Felix Afena Gyan has joined Cremonese on a permanent deal. The deal was worth €6 million with €3 million in add-ons.
AS Roma, Afena’s former club has agreed to terms with Andrea Belotti who was a free agent to join the club. Belotti scored 106 goals and assisted 27 in 270 appearances in Seria A.
According to sources, the camp of the Ghanaian forward, Afena Gyan had a role to play in the transfer of the striker as they consistently pushed for a move for the young talent to get playing time elsewhere.
This was to aid him to get a call-up for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. Afena, 19, broke into the senior team of Roma last season after having an impressive season in the Roma Junior team.
Afena managed to score 2 out of 17 appearances for AS Roma as they lifted the first ever UEFA Europa Conference League. Afena is yet to feature for the Cremonese side in Seria A this season and is hoping to get a call-up into the Black Stars of Ghana team for the World Cup in November
