We want to remove Akufo-Addo from the seat – aggrieved Ghanaian
Ghanaians unimpressed with recent happenings, want government to act now
Today, the National Democratic Congress, NDC led what can be described as one of the biggest demonstrations in recent times in a bid to drum home their grievances to President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Christened, ‘March for Justice’, the protest which has been organized by the Youth Wing of the party saw a massive turnout as party members and sympathizers streamed through the streets of Accra. As they marched to present their petition, our team spoke to some of the protestors and as would always be present in such gatherings we met others who had ideas different from the theme for the protest.
Speaking to the media, one female protestor who waited for minutes to have her turn finally got the chance. She said.in Twi as translated by our reporter, “we voted for Akufo-Addo but we have not seen anything. You said Free Education but when the children go to boarding house they pay…..They are killing Police and soldiers. Armed robbers all over. We will remove him from the seat. Things are hard”.
“We want the killing of Police and children to stop. Bring jobs to Ghana, stop all armed robbery. We are tired in Ghana,” she concluded.
The statement from this woman goes far beyond just seeking justice and stopping the killings but also it tells of the need to listen to the people and fix whatever that needs fixing.
