The President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the final rally of the governing political party New Patriotic Party (NPP) at James Town in Accra campaigned for the NDC Parliamentary Candidate instead of the NPP Candidate.
The President who was addressing the well-attended rally introduced the NPP’s Odododiodo Constituency Nii Lante Bannerman and asked that he needs votes from the people to support him in his next government.
However, mentioning his name, the President who seem to have been at a loss called the name of the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate who is also the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Constituency.
“In Odododiodo when you vote for me then you are also voting for Nii Lante Vanderpuye
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was prompted of the blunder committed and in correcting the flaw said: “Yeii I didn’t mention the right name, I meant Nii Lante Bannerman. What am I using Nii Lantey Vanderpuye for? Vote for Nii Lante Bannerman”.
Today is the last day for political campaigns across the country as Ghana goes to the polls on December 7 to elect leaders to steer the affairs of the country in the next four years.
This year’s election is one of the keenly contested elections considering the fact that the election is between a sitting President and a former President of the country.
