Madam Gabriella Tetteh, a member of the National Democratic Congress’ Communication team has described as “far-fetched” the assumption that the National Democratic Congress was responsible for the booing of the president at the Global Citizens Festival which has become topical for some time now.

During a discussion on TV3 on 29th September 2022, she said that “the offshoot of your bad policies and programmes met you at the Black Stars Square“.

She expressed disappointment at the legislator for Adansi-Asokwa, Kobina Tahir Hammond for insulting and questioning the ability of the youth that booed President Akufo-Addo and called on the media not to be interviewing him.

Retracing back to 2016, she said former President Mahama was booed by members of the Alliance For Accountable Governance ( AFAG ), but they were not insulted, nor their capabilities questioned.

“Simply put President Akufo-Addo was booed because the youth are angry with him the only reason they are managing him is because of democracy as he deserved the booing,” she said

According to her, “this government has been nothing less than shambolic. We have even lost the adjectives to describe them“.

She then cautioned the government not to lose sight of the desponding aggression among the youth and need to understand that it is because they are suffering.

Also, she categorically clarified that the NDC is not in any way responsible for the booing of the president.
