Johnson Asiedu Nketiah - NDC General Secretary

Maverick General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress  Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has said that per signals he is picking up from Ghana’s legislative house a member of the Majority group in Parliament is seriously battling with stroke at the hospital.

He made this claim while being interviewed on Accra based Starr FM on Wednesday 2nd March 2022, pointing out that, the situation has shortened the governing New Patriotic Party in Parliament in terms of marshalling enough numbers to get the E-levy passed.

The NDC chief scribe then added that “They keep going around as if they have the numbers to pass the E-levy by themselves but they cannot. Now you have one of your MPs struck down by stroke, he is in intensive care as we speak.”

In responding to the current tension brewing in the Majority group between the leaders and Dome Kwabenya legislator Sarah Adwoa Sarfo following the latter’s constant absence from Parliament for proceedings of the house, the vociferous General Secretary said he is solidly behind the legislator if the main goal for her absence is to object the controversial E-levy.

Her colleague members of the Majority group have not hidden their frustration surrounding the issue as they constantly chide her to the extent that the First Deputy Speaker has now revealed that, currently the Dome Kwabenya lawmaker is not factored into their activities in Parliament.
