The National Democratic Congress in to encourage universal participation and the involvement of all persons has slashed the prices of the nomination forms for positions to be contested in the internal elections by 50 per cent for persons with any form of disability, the General Secretary of the party Johnson Asiedu Nketiah announced at a press conference today, September 15.

Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah explained during the press briefing at the party headquarters in Accra that it is in tandem with the party’s policy as a social democratic party.

“This decision is in line with our policy as a socially democratic party as those who will be contesting with any form of disability will pay only 50% for the form,” he announced.

The policy forms part of the significant reforms the party has brought up as they gear up to hold about 879 internal elections if Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe and  Lolobi (SALL) are included. The party is targeting to finish by the end of the year and focus on the task ahead, which is the elections in 2024

According to Mr Asiedu Nketiah, the elections started from the basics which is the branch level where youth wing elections are held to choose youth executives at the branch level for the party, women’s wing will also follow at the branch level and then the main elections to get executives for the branch level.
