NDC shreds the Justice Koomson led Ejura Committee report, calls it a shameful coverup
The National Democratic Congress has thrown the findings of the Justice Koomson committee on the Ejura disturbances to dogs, describing it as a shameful coverup for persons in power.
In a press conference held at the party’s headquarters on Tuesday afternoon, the party punched holes into the report of the committee and went on to discredit it.
Premier amongst what they said was that it was false for the committee to have alluded to a family feud as the cause of Kaaka’s killing. This they said was because their checks indicate that Kaaka was leaving in peace with his family including his accused brother before he was killed.
What the party says it finds difficult to process is that the Justice Koomson committee decided to rule out the testimony of Kaaka’s wife who said that her murdered husband came under several threats by assigns of the Ejura MCE which corroborates Kaaka’s proclamation that the then MCE, Salisu Bamba should be held responsible if he, Kaaka was murdered but rather upheld the testimony of two persons which included Sadia Mohammed, Kaaka’s co-tenant who has so far given two conflicting testimonies.
One to the Police upon their preliminary investigations at the murder scene of Kaaka that he was killed by two built-up men, a description which led the Police to arrest two bodyguards of the MCE, and another to the committee that she saw Iddi Mohammed who is Kaaka’s brother drawing his dead body to the bathroom making him the suspected killer.
The second person whose account the NDC was amazed formed the basis for the Committee to link Kaaka’s death to a family feud was Aminu Mohammed who testified in camera that there was unrest between Kaaka and his brother because Kaaka caused his arrest in 2020 forcing him to travel to Nigeria after his release.
Not only have the family denied this claim stating emphatically that Iddi has never in his life travelled to Nigeria, but the party has disclosed that they have confirmed from Aminu Mohammed that he was neither in Ejura when Kaaka was killed, nor during the Ejura disturbances which caused two lives to be lost but in Burkina Faso.
According to Sammy Gyamfi Esq, who spoke on behalf of the party in his mandate as the National Communication Officer, the Justice Koomson committee’s work was a shameful attempt to coverup for the MCE and the Nana Addo-Bawumia led government.
He added that the committee should have stayed away from pronouncing the cause of the death of Kaaka since they had no power to do so and the evidence before them wasn’t conclusive.
