NDC set December 1 for its national congress
The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Aseidu Nketia has announced that the party will elect its National Executives on December 17th 2022.
Addressing a press conference today 15th September at the party’s national headquarters in Accra, he stated that aspirants for the various National Executive positions will be required to take nomination forms from 20th October and 21st October and complete it within two weeks, filing their nominations on 5th and 6th November.
He added that the vetting of these National aspirants will then be on the 9th and 10th of November.
However, touching on the party’s constituency and regional elections, the NDC also outlined the various dates for activities within those levels.
The constituency elections are expected to take place on 22nd and 23rd October after aspirants have been vetted from 30th September to 2nd October. “Nomination for this constituency elections will be opened from Tuesday, September 20th to September 22th and there will be a duration of one week to complete the forms after which nominations will be filed on September 28th – September 29th the party’s secretary said.
Picking of nomination forms for Regional elections will be from 6th October to 7th October, and filing of the forms will start on 14th and 15th October. Vetting of aspirants commences from 16th – 17th October. Regional elections will be held on November 12th and November 13th.
Aspirants are also tasked to pay all filing fees for the positions, Chairman will pay GH₵600 as filing fees, the position of the Vice Chairman costs GH₵500, another GH₵500 for the position of the General Secretary, GH₵400 for the Organiser, Treasurer and Communications Officer, GH₵350 for the Youth and Women Organizers.
