NDC rolls out a digital payment platform to collect monthly dues and filing fees
The National Democratic Congress, NDC has announced the introduction of a digital payment platform to enable members to pay their monthly dues, register new members as well as file nominations.
Addressing the media, NDC’s Deputy General Secretary, Peter Otokunor disclosed that, the platform will operate in three(3) different strategies which will be the web platform(www.ghanndc.com), the shortcode method(*920*25#) and also a QR Code which can be scanned easily and will be available across all the regions.
He further added that all payments can be done by indicating membership card numbers, and phone numbers in the blank section provided.
According to the General Secretary, Johnson Aseidu Nketia, the old method which is the manual strategy of payment had challenges and controversies in identifying the exact members who have paid their dues or not. As a result of that, the NDC then decided to bring up an efficient and effective method to help keep records of members without any impediment.
He stated that “Because we want to find an efficient means of filing fees, gathering and collecting dues, we decided to put branch election on hold until establishing an efficient platform for the collection of dues and be able to determine who qualifies to contest or not without any hinders credit”.
The party has therefore maintained the amount of 2 cedis as monthly dues and 10 cedis per member as the filing fee for those who aspire to contest the branch elections.
