Members of the Minority Caucus in Parliament still on their unannounced visit and inspection of abandoned health projects have accused the Health Minister of telling half-truth regarding hospital projects across the country.

Making a stop at  Yilo Krobo in the Eastern Region, they demanded answers to why the Yilo Krobo district hospital is still under lock and key despite the availability of all facilities needed to make the hospital function. They questioned why the facility is lying there unused, though everything to make it usable is at the Ministry’s disposal.

Member of Parliament for Yilo Krobo, Albert Nyarkotey seized the opportunity to remind the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu that he had already engaged in some discussions with him regarding the opening of the facility for use and is urging him to work on that.

The visit was part of the Minority Caucus on the Health Committee of Parliament unannounced visit and inspection to demand answers from the government on why the construction of some health facilities had stalled and why some fully completed ones are not in use at the moment.

Not just the Minority in Parliament but also, members of some of the districts are also demanding that the facilities in their communities either be opened to the public in the case of those completed or those that have stalled be completed to enable the public access to health care from them.
