I am not worried if Asiedu Nketiah wants to contest for national chairman – Samuel Ofosu Ampofo
The race to the NDC National Executive elections is getting heated up as the incumbent chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has indicated his intention of leaving no stone unturned in the quest to defend his position as the party chairman.
According to him, he has heard of the claims that General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah will contest for the chairmanship position of the party but he indicated during an interview on Oyerepa FM based in Kumasi that he is unmoved by speculations.
“This is not the time for me to flex my muscles. I have done this among others. I’m telling you that I will defend my title irrespective of who will contest me even though we are not there yet,” he stressed.
He also revealed that General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is yet to make his intentions to contest the seat known and indicated that when they get to the bridge they will cross it.
Chairman Ampofo was confident about the fact that members of the party believe in him and assured that he will not act in a way that he will see himself as the one with the ideas for the party to emerge victorious in the 2024 elections.
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo was speaking during an interview in Kumasi after the national executives of the NDC arrived in the Ashanti Region and commenced a tour to bring new members into the party to boost their support base in one of the most difficult regions for the party ahead of the 2024 polls.
