Ensure Akufo-Addo hands over to next NPP government – Lord Commey
The Director of Operations at the Office of the President, Lord Commey, has charged the New Patriotic Party members to work hard to retain the party in power come 2024.
He revealed “President has said he would hand over power to the next NPP government. And like the Philistines, we must make sure the NDC never wins any election in this country against us.”
Lord Commey, has also rejected claims that he will be running for the position of National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the party’s upcoming national delegates’ conference.
“I don’t care who becomes the chairman of the NPP. I don’t care who becomes the party’s flag bearer for 2024. All I care about is that the NPP must continue to remain in power after 2024”, Mr Comey Assured
Mr Commey while delivering a solidarity message on behalf of President Akufo-Addo at the party’s Greater Accra Regional Conference on Thursday, August 14, 2021, was unhappy about the party’s abysmal performance in the region during the 2020 general elections.
It will be remembered that the party lost seven parliamentary seats in the Greater Accra Region to the opposition NDC during the 2020 general election.
Mr Commey however charged the party leaders at the regional level to do everything possible in their bid to retain power come 2024.
“In this conference today are party leaders. The power to break or make the party lies in your hands. Never again should what happened to Greater Accra happen to the NPP again”, he said
