Edward Abambire Bawa - MP for Bongo

Finding a government communicator to speak on TV or Radio is currently a herculean task according to the Member of Parliament for Bongo, Honourable Edward Bawa.

The outspoken parliamentarian minced no words in stating his believe that the bad management of the economy which has taken Ghana to its knees has made even the communicators of ruling party to shy away from what they are tasked to do.

Expressing his thoughts during an interview on TV3, the legislator blamed the government for not handling the economic situation well right from the onset, thus leading the economy to its current sad state.

He said it is now extremely difficult to find government communicators in media houses to give excuses as to why the economy is on its knees as the communicators themselves are feeling the heat and do not have any excuses again.

According to Mr Bawa, this economic downturn is much more serious than what Ghana faced from 2006 to 2007.

On Monday 15th August  2022 utility tariffs was upwardly adjusted by 27.15% for electricity and 21.55% for water effective from 1st September.

Those two increments have added to the already sky-high petroleum prices, the now pronounced world’s worst performing currency and a number of other indicators such as Monetary Policy Rate and inflation going beyond imagination.
