Accept and work with Akufo-Addo’s nominees in your areas – Yaw Buaben Asamoa pleads with NPP supporters
As the much-anticipated list of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives came out this week, the New Patriotic Party has urged its members to accept the nominees chosen by the president.
This caution by the New Patriotic Party communication director Yaw Buaben Asamoa went to the party’s grassroots. He also advised that this will go a long way to benefit their various districts and the party as a whole.
To the nominated MMDCEs Hon Buaben Asamoah also advised them to be open for suggestions and work together with the people to help the various districts.
Those who were not nominated were warned not to instigate rejection of the nominated ones in their various districts as it has been the case for some time now. When MMDCEs are nominated by the President, it is oftentimes characterized by vehement protests by some people stating that they do not like the President’s nominee and they want him or her changed leading to sometimes clashes in the areas.
There has been a delay in bringing out the final list of nominated persons to lead the various metropolitans, municipalities and districts as part of the decentralization of government. This prompted legal action against the government by Hon Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, Member of Parliament of Sout Dayi for the delay.
