Former Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Kwasi Ofori Agyeman has called out the Christian Council of Ghana and the clergymen who recently called on former President John Mahama a “bunch of hypocrites.”

Following a closed-door meeting with Mr Mahama on Monday, February 14, 2022, to address issues of national concern, the former government appointee launched an attack on the clergymen.

Zuba, as he is known, indicated that he is perplexed as to why, if the NPP is accused of something, nothing emerges from the Christian Council, but when it is the other way around, the Christian Council raises the Bible and begins preaching peace.

The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, the Most Reverend Paul K. Boafo, headed a high-level clergy delegation that comprised members of the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, and the Catholic Bishops Conference to see the former president, Mr. Mahama.

Mr Ofori Agyeman, who seemed enraged, while speaking on Akoma FM’s current affairs and politics show GhanAkoma on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, took a jab at the clerics’ for not calling the government to account on various topics.

“We were all in this country when key members of the NPP rained insults on Mr Mahama to the extent that some even threatened to burn his house. We didn’t hear a word from the so-called clergymen or Christian Council, so now what has changed? What has pricked them to visit the former president? They are bunch of hypocrites. Let’s call a spade a spade,” he stated.
