YEA boss shocked by numbers that turned up for job fair
The glaring unemployment rate Ghana is grappling with was made evident during the ongoing job fair held by the youth employment agency.
Following the thousands of youth that patronized the job fair, Chief Executive officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Justine Coduah admitted that there was so much to be done by the agency in terms of employment of the youth in the country.
He also admitted how saddened he was at the number of youth trooping into the fair and the desperation that set in is a call to the agency to find a lasting solution to the current unemployment rate among the youth in the country.
But he took solace in the fact that they organized a job fair to help curb the situation. This is an opportunity for them [YEA] to scale up and improve on this fair when they get to the office.
On Thursday, September 9, 2021, many youths in a bid to secure jobs with companies trooped into the job fair organized by the Youth Employment Agency
According to the YEA, although expectations were high, it is satisfied with the outcome of the first day.
The CEO expressed the need for the agency to now engage in more job facilitation and liaising and move away from the old module to help the youth secure jobs.
