After backlash during previous examinations due to examination paper leakages, the West African Examination Council has made known its intention to curb such instances in this year’s West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination, (WASSCE).

Briefing the media on the ongoing WASSCE which commenced on Monday 22nd August 2022, Madam Agnes Teye Cudjoe, head of Public Affairs revealed that in a bid to ensure the integrity of the papers extra depots will be set up and will be heavily guarded by the police.

Also, there will be new padlocks added that use only numbers and the code will only be known just some few minutes to dispatch the papers.

They also assured maximum security measures in place for each paper taken in the exams which include liaising with the National Intelligence Bureau to track papers and the inclusion of security to also apprehend operators of rogue websites, strengthening the security detail of some depots and serialization of some question papers are but some of the few measures adopted to make the exams leakage free.
