The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has requested that the Ghana Police Service issue an Interpol red notice for the arrest of Madam Afia Nyarkowaa, a former teacher at Pantang Nurses and Midwifery School.
This follows the teacher’s indictment in the 2018 Auditor General’s report for taking a salary while on study leave but failing to return after completing her studies.
The school Authorities testified before the committee on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, that getting Madam Afia Nyarkowaa to restore the funds to the state has been challenging.
As a result, the Chairman of the Committee, James Klutse Avedzi, ordered the teacher’s arrest.
