Teachers can now heave a sigh of relief as issues regarding textbooks and syllabus will soon be addressed.

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Prof Opoku Amankwah has assured teachers that textbooks that contain the new syllabus for teaching will be shared next academic year.

This comes after series of complaints from the various teacher unions and most stakeholders in the education sector.

Prof Amakwaa cited the fact that to be able to come out with a syllabus and textbooks there should be series of consultations and approval before it finally comes up and is approved for teaching.

He also revealed that teachers have already been given the required training with regards to the new textbook and curriculum as well.

Prof Amankwah also seized the opportunity to debunk the notion making rounds that the various Senior High Schools have food shortages indicating that there are foods in the various Senior High Schools. In fact, most of the schools have arrangements with buffer stock just that for some schools their food storage barns are not spacious enough to store more food and that is the problem.
