The woman at the centre of the Takoradi kidnap and pregnancy saga, Josephine Panyin Mensah will face legal action after investigations proved that all her claims were false.

The reason for this action according to the Director-General in charge of public affairs of the Ghana Police Service ACP Kwesi Ofori is that she wasted their resources by creating such a fake story and sending the Police on a wild goose chase.

He cited that they are monitoring developments closely that she might appear before the court because she manufactured all these with the figment of her imagination and got the Police involved

ACP Kwesi Ofori also revealed how they had to deploy a 40-member search team and even when they located her through public assistance, took her to the hospital with policemen providing security and where she claimed to have attended antenatal clinics, it all turned out to be false after they went for a second opinion from another team of doctors.

He also narrated how an Assistant Commissioner of Police who is a criminal phycologist was placed at her disposal travelling from Accra to Takoradi and the Head of Counselling Department of the Police also went to Takoradi to assess her and offer assistance.

“So if you quantify all these things, it is a big investment, but the Police will continue to offer good support to our people and offer assistance,” he said.

ACP Kwesi Ofori had initially revealed that Josephine Panyin Mensah faked her pregnancy to court her husband’s admiration and acceptance.
